Leopard Recording Studio is in Stone Ridge, NY (near New Paltz, Kingston, Woodstock, NY) in the mid Hudson valley.
The private studio building sits surrounded by beautiful meadows, wildflowers, mountains and a small pond. Wildlife is all around.
Our facility has three main rooms: a great sounding pro tools tracking room with a Steinway piano, drums, amps, etc., a mix room with pro tools HD system and a comfortable "studio apartment" for bands to use while staying here. We have a full kitchen, dining area, tv lounge, bathroom, VCR/DVD, and a pool table.
Bands certainly benefit from the tranquil, private environment as they are able to fully focus on the project without distractions of home (yes, we have WiFi). There is something very nice about being in the recording studio as a resident while the project is being done. While your project is in session, nobody else will be using the studio, so no time wasting set up/breakdown is necessary. Sleep with your instruments? It has been done, as has recording in pajamas.
